“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while” (1 Peter 1 6, NLT). Life brings us more than our share of trials; suffering doesn’t negate God's promises but becomes part of the process through which faith is strengthened and refined. We can endure hardships with confidence because our ultimate hope rests in God's eternal salvation.

“God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant” (Romans 5:20, NLT). This highlights both the seriousness of sin and the surpassing greatness of God's mercy. Instead of leaving us condemned because of our sins, He responds to our need with an overflowing supply of grace through Jesus Christ.

“And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work” (Romans 11:6). There’s a clear distinction between grace and works that we must understand if we’re to avoid being deceived. Salvation is a gift that can’t be earned or deserved; if human effort contributed to salvation, grace would cease to be grace.

“And all the people answered together, and said, All that the Lord hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the Lord” (Exodus 19:8). When the people readily agreed to obey God's covenant before fully understanding the demands it would place on them, their response demonstrated good intentions but also the limitations of human commitment apart from God’s enabling grace. This serves as a reminder that obedience requires more than just enthusiasm, but also dependence on God.

“For Moses writes that the law’s way of making a person right with God requires obedience to all of its commands” (Romans 10:5, NLT). Righteousness through the Law of Moses depends on perfect obedience, but no one can flawlessly keep God’s law. This highlights humanity’s need for salvation through faith in Christ rather than reliance on personal performance.

“Don’t waste your energy striving for perishable food like that. Work for the food that sticks with you, food that nourishes your lasting life, food the Son of Man provides. He and what he does are guaranteed by God the Father to last” (John 6:27, MSG). Temporary things satisfy for a moment, but Christ offers eternal life and enduring fulfillment. The challenge for believers is to keep eternal priorities ahead of worldly pursuits.

“Evil people get rich for the moment, but the reward of the godly will last” (Proverbs 11:18, NLT). Prosperity gained through ungodly means is short-lived, but a life lived in righteousness produces lasting benefits. God values faithfulness over immediate gain and reminds us to invest in what has eternal value instead of what merely produces short-term results.

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2). The world seeks to shape thinking, priorities, and beliefs, but Christians are called to avoid adopting values and behaviors contrary to God's will. Lasting change begins internally.

“For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death” (Romans 7:5). Sin produces destructive results; left unchecked, sinful desires result in spiritual death and brokenness. Freedom comes through Christ, not through self-improvement alone.

“No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father” (John 10:18). Jesus’ death wasn’t a tragic accident but a deliberate act of love and obedience, carried out according to the Father’s plan for salvation. Because He has authority over death, we can have confidence in His victory over the grave and His power to give eternal life.

“Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5).
It was no accident that Jesus repeated this promise from the Old Testament when He preached to the crowds. Being meek doesn’t mean being weak—in this context, it means willingly accepting God’s plan for us. Submitting to His will often means going against what the world tells us is right and wrong; this takes a special kind of strength and courage only found with God.

“A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity” (Psalm 37:10, 11, NIV).
The world has a negative connotation for the word “meek;” its biblical interpretation describes those who live a quiet and gentle life and deliberately submit to God’s will. He’ll do away with the wicked and will greatly bless those who live according to His Word.

“For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night” (Psalm 90:4).
In the process of making heaven and earth, God saw the end of time as He was creating its beginning. Time doesn’t exist in heaven; the idea of days, weeks, months, and years is an earthly concept.

“Then they gathered around him and asked him, ‘Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?’ He said to them: ‘It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority’” (Acts 1:6, 7, NIV).
God always answers us when we have questions; however, His answer may not always come according to our earthly expectations of time. We can trust that we will hear from Him in His own time.
