“So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor” (1 Peter 5:6, NLT). God promises to exalt us, but this comes in His timing, not ours. Learning to live according to His schedule takes patience and a shift in our mindset.
- July 24
“And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’ So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:6, 7 NLT). Humility is the gateway to receiving God’s grace; by comparison, pride puts us in opposition to God. Spiritual authority begins with our submission—first to God, then resistance against the devil becomes effective.

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19). Personal decisions often affect future generations, influencing families and communities. The instruction to “choose life” reveals God’s desire for people to walk in obedience and receive His blessing.

“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8, NLT). The devil seeks opportunities to bring discouragement, temptation, deception, and destruction. This comparison to a roaring lion emphasizes the seriousness of spiritual warfare.

“To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace” (Ephesians 1:6, 7). Salvation is entirely the work of God’s grace, not human achievement. He accepts us because we’re united with Christ, “the beloved.”

“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10). God initiated His love toward us long before humanity responded to Him. The sending of Jesus demonstrates the depth and sacrifice of the Father’s love.

“For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith” (1 John 5:4, NLT). As believers, we’re overcomers because of our relationship with God. Being His children gives us a supernatural advantage in an environment where the odds are against us.
- July 18
“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). Death isn’t separation from God but entrance into His presence. We can therefore face this transition with hope because our future with God is secure.
- July 17
“Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven” (Luke 10:19, 20, NLT). Snakes and scorpions symbolize victory over dangerous spiritual opposition. Jesus taught that salvation is more important than supernatural demonstrations of power.

“In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere” (Ephesians 6:10-12, AMPC). We’re commanded to rely on God’s strength rather than our own human ability or self-confidence. God’s armor is necessary because the enemy uses strategies, deception, and spiritual opposition against believers.

God’s Word is true; obeying it brings eternal life. We’re strictly warned against adding to, taking away from, or changing anything in the Scriptures to suit ourselves.

“The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe” (Proverbs 29:25, NKJV).

“A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back” (Proverbs 29:11, NKJV).
It’s unwise to speak without thinking, criticize others with a sharp tongue, or talk endlessly without saying anything. Words are powerful weapons; part of godly wisdom is knowing when to keep silent.
